Legolas story Chapter 3

Gandalf stared around the council and wondered in his mind if everyone would still hold true. They would all be facing things that even Gimli would not be able to fight with his axe, two worlds would be colliding and this time the human world would be dominant and for the first time over-rule. The world Ebony had come from before would not be friendly to them and yet five years had passed and even Thranduil had watched as Ebony fell deeper and deeper into darkness. He hoped Eledor would reach her before that happened, Eledor was a kind hearted elf who would always be there and he would always protect Ebony and she had much to face and she knew she would lose that one thing she hated and still held dear to her. That boy, thought Gandalf, had caused much pain to Ebony and still she kept her promise and she played his game but soon she wouldn't be able to play and her power would end and all her powers as an elf would be over. She had bargained too much for her time as an elf and her life as human was dwindling fast, if they didn't go back now she would die in both forms but somehow the people gathered at the council would not let that happen. 
          Gandalf cleared his throat and coughed loudly "My friends, we do not have time for this, we all know what is at hand and we must act now. Thranduil, you know weapons will not help you or your son. He must learn to be like a human. Ebony will teach him how, in fact she will teach all of you. Now call her here and we will be on our way food will not be needed you all know that, we will be provided for." 
Gandalf waited for the arguments and protests but nothing happened, and then Thranduil stood and spoke "Gandalf I know weapons and food won't be needed but Legolas wanted answers he went to the archives to find information." Gandalf stood abruptly but Thranduil held his hand "Don't worry my dear Gandalf, did you honestly think I would let my son have the answers? He would want to kill Sab, I mean that boy on the spot before any justice was given."
"And why shouldn't he?" announced Gimli. "That boy, and I will not hesitate to speak his name, has caused much pain to Ebony and deserves to be killed regardless of the bargain."
"No, that wouldn't seem right." Merry the hobbit said "none of us has ever killed anyone without a fair trial. The boy may have done wrong but his fate is up to Ebony, we are just here to help and only help."
"That's right!" Pippin agreed "We swore to always be with Ebony right from the beginning, but also made us promise that whatever happened between her and her brother was her choice and we don't interfere." Pippin looked around and his eyes rested on Gandalf. "Isn't that right." He said again. 
"Yes Pippin old boy that is correct but now things are different and the situation has changed. No-one knows what is happening anymore and Ebony is shutting everyone out every day, soon she will not be open to us at all." A murmur went round the council and Merry spoke again "But even so Gandalf Ebony must tell us what she wants and none of us can change what she decides." Another murmur and Gandalf lit his pipe and blew small rings and said "Perhaps you are right Pippin but we must go soon talking will not solve any problems and time is passing quickly. Soon we will have no time at all."
"Time is not what we Gandalf, and you  know it. What we need are answers and Ebony is not giving us those soon she will become a complete mystery to us and we will no longer be able to help her." Thranduil had voiced what all had known and feared to say and no-one wanted to say anything. "Thranduil you forget that now Eledor and Ebony are together the answers will come and the dreams and visions will grow stronger. Ebony is still trustworthy and if anyone questions that they can leave now." Gandalf sighed and waited to hear the scraping of chairs and people leaving but nothing came and Gandalf knew everyone was ready to face whatever was happening. The council was nearly over and much time had been lost and Gandalf could feel danger coming. The portal was opening fast and they all had to go through before it closed. It would open again but they could not wait much longer the time had come. All of them were ready.
"The time has arrived." Gandalf announced "Come Gimli, Merry, Pippin I think it’s time we paid Ebony, Eledor and Legolas a visit. I know where they are. Thranduil you know what to do."
Gandalf swept out of the room and the others followed. Thranduil meanwhile set off to find the portal and to prepare the documents they would need. The game had begun and this time Thranduil would do all he could to make sure Ebony won he owed her that much.
