Simon stood outside the Pandemonium club with his fellow band mates Eric and Matt. Eric as always had a bit of hair falling over his eyes and Matt had a scowl on his face. Simon saw himself and a girl with shocking red hair saying “Simon, can’t you see it? The symbol?” Simon looked at the sign and saw a glowing symbol which vanished before he could say anything. There had been nothing there, just as before Simon didn't want to believe anything had been there. He took a deep breath and walked into the club Eric and Matt at his heels. The music overwhelmed Simon and he finally relaxed Eric was already looking for some cute girls to dance with. Simon laughed as a tall blonde girl danced towards Eric and pulled him away. Eric looked at Simon as if to say see what did I tell you I am an attractive guy. Simon looked away searching for Matt, there he was by the bar chatting up some girls. One seemed quite keen on him but Matt wasn't interested he was looking at the other girl. Simon didn't think they were his type but he was pleased that he had taken his friends here and they were having fun and doing what normal teenagers would be doing on a Friday night after school. But Simon didn't feel part of it; his mind was elsewhere he was trying so hard to remember. Remember what he didn't know, he knew something was missing from his mind but every time he searched for it he came up against a blank wall. He never normally suffered from memory loss but right now Simon couldn't remember anything. He had come here because something about the Pandemonium club was linked to his memories but what he didn't know. Simon just wanted to be a normal teenager again but that didn't seem to be happening. “Are you alone?” Simon looked up, he had been dancing not very well but dancing and a girl was standing in front of him a slight amused look on her face. “Ummmm yes I am, I’m not with a girl if that’s what you mean. I’m here with my band mates.” Stupid Simon thought why he had just said that, Simon was terrible when it came to chatting up girls. “Huh, you’re funny, but I like you.” The girl said “Come and dance with me, find your band mates later.” Simon shrugged and the girl pulled him away to dance, her arms around his neck.
Clary stood by the bar and watched Simon dance with the girl. The girl was not human but a vampire what Simon used to be probably why she had wanted to dance with him. The vampires had all sworn not to hurt him but Clary itched to grab her stele and kill the girl. Even though she didn't need it Clary had a glamour rune on her arm and she could see the swirling mark and smiled. A few months ago she had been like Simon an ordinary human and then she had met Jace Lightwood, no Herondale and her whole life had changed. But she was now living the truth and not the lie. But Simon was living a lie and would never remember again his Shadowhunter, Vampire and Werewolf friends. Clary could still remember the day Simon had become a vampire and had frozen at the age of 16 and now he was aging again and would live a normal life. He would go to college, have girlfriends, go to uni and maybe one day get married and have a family of his own and Clary would never be a part of it. Not like she had done before. Before seemed a long time ago but it had only been a few days since they had all come back from Idris. Sebastien her brother was dead and had died looking like the boy she sometimes saw in her dreams but now she lived a Shadowhunter life without Simon her best friend. But she had Jace now and she would never lose him again and the Heavenly Fire had all burned out of him and he was now the Jace she had always known. Brave, loving, a good fighter and always strong.
Clary wondered if Simon remembered even a bit of his time as a vampire and his time with the Shadowhunters. She doubted it, Magnus’s father had said he would remember nothing and that only if he started to remember could they intervene and tell him all over again the truth about himself and his old life. She looked at the girl standing next to her, black marks swirling over her body, her snake whip coiled around her left wrist and always the pendant glowing softly. No demons were around, thankfully Simon was safe for tonight no fighting would be done tonight. Clary watched Simon and wondered if he liked the girl, he did seem into her but then Simon did like any girl who liked him. The only girl he had ever loved was her but she had always loved Jace from the moment she had seen him and nothing would change that not ever. "It' not fair! Simon should be with us, he should be... he should be." Isabel was starting to cry again for the hundreth time in a week. Izzy never cried unless something really bad was happening to her friends. "Simon should be with me, I am his girlfriend after all." That took Clary by surprise "Are you really? When did this happen you never told me or anyone for that matter Izzy."
"Well he'll never know we were now, I was going to tell him when we got back from Idris but he lost all his memories of me and he's back to being a normal mundane now and he's no longer the hot and sexy vampire I fell in love with." Izzy breathed heavily her pendant bouncing around her throat.
"Oh Isabel I am sorry! We'll find a way to get Simon back, we will. We will just have to wait a while that's all."
"That's one thing Isabel can't do. Isabel can never wait for anything. But how is our dear friend Simon who can't remember who we are doing tonight?" Clary turned and Jace was walking towards her smiling broadly and carrying his stele. "Hello Clary, missed me?"
"Simon is doing fine, he may not remember who we are but I still want to check on him. He's still a dear friend even if I can't talk to him properly ever again. And yes but you were only gone a few minutes but then I guess I don't like being away from you too long." Clary smiled and kissed Jace quickly but lightly on the lips.
"Uh get a room you two." Isabel snapped. "I should be kissing Simon right now but it looks like he's going to kiss that vampire girl. She better keep her hands off him. Can I kill her Clary? Please I haven't killed a vampire since the battle."
"Sorry Isabel wasn't thinking." Clary smiled "And really you must really like him. Simon I mean. And no Isabel she may be wanting to kiss him but look he's pushed her away and he's coming this way."
